SUSTAINABILITY
Castle Hot Springs is committed to reducing their impact on the environment.
Committed to having a lower impact on the environment and aim to be stewards of the land we are so grateful to inhabit. Using our hot spring water source, to making renewable energy a priority for the resort, the efforts here have earned Castle Hot Springs a Sustainability Certification from Green Globe.

Our Pillars of Sustainability
ENERGY
We monitor energy use and review annually as part of regular carbon emissions accounting. In our first year of estimating our carbon footprint (2024), we found the average night's stay costs approximately 25 kg CO2e. Our expectations are to decrease this value year by year as our practices improve.
WATER
The heart of the resort: the water we use is sourced right at the natural springs, and is returned to the immediate environment after we've used it via wastewater drainage systems. Water retention is a direct indicator of soil health: as our soil stewardship practices improve, we aim to see a decline in water usage on the farm and on the lawn.
WASTE
Circular resource management requires robust waste management. By diverting recyclables away from the landfill, such as glass, aluminum, plastic, and organic waste, we can substantially reduce our carbon footprint. Castle takes pride in our unique, on-site composting process.
TRANSPORTATION
We offer a carpool and shuttle program for employees, and most resort vehicles are electric. By 2023, we significantly reduced the number of delivery trips to the resort with mindful inventory systems and order consolidation.
FOOD & BEVERAGE
Our chefs choose local, fresh ingredients which are not only healthier and tastier, but also celebrate the specific locale while offsetting environmental burden. Regenerative farming practices at Castle Hot Springs focus on restoring soil health and encouraging biodiversity.
PEST MANAGEMENT
We follow IPM principles (Integrated Pest Management) to address pests on property. This means we integrate multiple ways of discouraging pests in ways that aim to support the existing ecosystem as well as long-term human health.
